Sanju Samson led the charge with a polished 82 from 52 balls, striking eight fours and two sixes. Ishan Kishan added further momentum with an explosive 74 off 42 deliveries, including six fours and five sixes, as India built a formidable total.
New Zealand found it difficult to match the required tempo. Mark Chapman offered resistance with 38 from 26 balls, hitting four fours and a six, but the chase never fully gathered pace as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Mohammed Siraj was India’s leading bowler, claiming 3-25 from his four overs. Jasprit Bumrah supported him with 2-28, while James Neesham took 2-35 for New Zealand. Samson was named Player of the Match for his influential innings as India secured a 66-run victory.
