Raza’s all-round impact lifts Zimbabwe past Australia

A composed chase, led by Kaia and finished with Raza’s vital contribution, earns Zimbabwe a memorable win
AUSTRALIA vs ZIMBABWE
ZIMBABWE has won the match by 2 wickets
Zimbabwe produced a determined chase to overcome Australia in a gripping 50-over contest, reaching 226-8 in 45.3 overs after Australia had been bowled out for 222 in 39.4 overs. Innocent Kaia provided the foundation with a patient 51 from 57 balls, striking two fours and a six. Sikandar Raza then supplied the decisive impetus, making 36 from 42 deliveries with a four and a six as Zimbabwe kept their chase on course. Raza’s influence was not limited to the bat. The Zimbabwe all-rounder also claimed two wickets and was named Player of the Match for his valuable contribution in both disciplines. Brian Bennett added two wickets for 30 runs in six overs as Zimbabwe restricted Australia’s scoring opportunities. Australia’s strongest individual performance came from Cooper Conolly, who struck a superb 102 from 101 balls. His innings included five fours and six sixes, but the total ultimately proved insufficient. Josh Hazlewood led Australia’s bowling with three wickets for 40 runs in 8.3 overs, while Mitchell Starc took two for 38 from eight overs. Zimbabwe held their nerve late in the chase to complete a notable two-wicket victory.
