Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced a breathtaking display of power-hitting, smashing 104 from just 33 balls as India swept aside Afghanistan in their 20-over contest. His assault featured nine fours and 10 sixes, earning him Player of the Match honours and setting the tone for a dominant chase.
Afghanistan posted 152-8 from their allotted 20 overs, with Mohammad Nabi providing the innings' main resistance. Nabi struck 41 from 27 deliveries, including five fours and a six, but Afghanistan struggled to build enough momentum against an incisive Indian attack.
Jasprith Bumrah led the bowling effort with 3-26 from four overs, while Arshdeep claimed 2-30. Shivam Dube also chipped in with 1-24 from two overs as India kept Afghanistan from turning a competitive start into a formidable total.
India's reply was relentless. Sooryavanshi found the boundary at regular intervals, while Abishek Sharma added a brisk 45 from 28 balls, with three fours and three sixes. Together, they drove India to 156-1 in only 11.1 overs, completing a nine-wicket victory and underlining the gulf in attacking efficiency between the two sides.
